Thrill Me - Back By Popular Demand
After a successful summer run in 2024, MSK in collaboration with C-Musicals brought the English version of Thrill Me back to China with a second run. This restaging was performed in the state-of-the art Theatre Above located inside popular shopping distric Metro City in Shanghai, China.
Dylan Goike, who originally played the role of Nathan Leopold in the 2024 run, had the pleasure and challenge of adding the additional role of Richard Loeb to his performance schedule. He successfully performed both roles of this two-person musical on alternating nights, allowing audiences to see his versatillity and range as a musical actor.
Thrill Me is an American musical thriller by Stephen Dolginoff has been translated and performed around the globe in many languages. The first Chinese production was in 2016, performed in Mandarin, and reached cult status with thousands of fans loving the dangerous relationship between Leopold and Loeb.
The musical is based on the evidence and court proceedings of the investigation surrounding the murder of Bobby Franks by Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb in Chicago 1924. The musical centers around the suspected homoerotic relationship between the boys, and the toxic behavior that led to the crime.
